my rejected gobelins portfolio for the masters program from 2020. The saddest part about not getting into gobelins is that I wasn't able to eat croissants everyday in Paris. God I love croissants. Buttery, delicious, crunchy, truly the best breakfast food, so good in fact that it would be a crime to reduce it to a breakfast food. If I'm being honest, croissants can easily fill the spot for best dinner, lunch, brunch and snack food. The only time I feel alive is when I bite into the heavenly crust of a fresh croissant, soft on the inside, golden brown on the outside. If I could eat a single food item for the rest of my life it would be croissants. I don't even like bread that much, but croissants? sign me the f up. It truly speaks to the ingenuity of croissants that they've managed to elevate a food staple like bread to something so extraordinary. Like, when I'm eating bread it doesn't feel like anything special, but the out of body experience that comes with eating croissants? Truly unmatched. I've never had a dream college so I don't know a lot about the whole internet culture surrounding college acceptance advice etc. but if you were looking for tips you won't find them here, I guess don't do what I did. (whatever it was that I did) All I know is that I've been robbed of two school years worth of croissants, arguably the worst thing you can do to a person. But for those wondering what happened after this rejection, it was ok. I got a job at the place I was doing my internship at that year. I worked as a junior animator from January 2021 until October of 2021, after which I had the opportunity to do some tests to work on other projects but I decided to go back to my initial college to get my masters degree, as I had sustained a hand injury (RIP me) during my job and I wanted to take it easy+ I'm really passionate about my thesis film. Sometimes I get a little sad that I didn't get into Gobelins but whenever this happens I simply dry my tears with the money I got at my job. So yeah if you got intimidated by this portfolio being rejected, don't worry. J'ai du flooze. music: 4 morant - better luck next time
