The Switzer Report founder Peter Switzer has examined when the Reserve Bank of Australia may next cut interest rates, suggesting it could happen in May but not in April. “If Donald Trump throws so many curve balls that the market goes down again and confidence really looks rattled, they could move in April, but I would say more likely May,” he told Sky News Australia. “Even though we would argue cutting interest rates in the middle of an election campaign is historically unusual – it has been done. If the economy needed it, I’m sure the Reserve Bank will do it.”
