KBL is a popular Ilonggo dish which means Kadios/kadyos, Baboy, Langka. Kadios means black beans/pigeon peas/haricots noirs,.. baboy means pork,..and langka means jackfruit. Here I used beef which is a good alternative.The flavour of this recipe is usually sour like sinigang soup and originated from the province of Iloilo where they used batuan to sour this recipe. A supplement to this can be tamarind powder which works just as well.This is one of my favorite authentic filipino dishes because of the uniqueness of the recipe and the flavor it holds. Ingredients: 6 lbs beef shank bone-in ( this is for 6-8 people serving...adjust accordingly) 2 cans Langka (unriped jackfruit) 1 pack Kadios (Black beans /Haricots Noirs/Pigeon peas) 1 bunch Kangkong 1 Onion, chopped 1 large tomatoe, chopped 4 cloves galic, minced 1 pack Tamarind powder 1 beef cube Salt, ground pepper, fish sauce ( adjust depending to your taste) 2 green chilli pepper 1 stalk Lemongrass 6 cups water ( add more if needed) Olive oil or any cooking oil Please don't forget to like, subscribe & hit that notification bell so you always get updated on new uploaded videos.
