Happy Lung Cancer Awareness Month! Yes, we advocate year-round, but this month is special. We hope everyone is doing something to recognize Lung Cancer Awareness Month. In this month's LiveLung Update with Dusty Donaldson, Dusty shares about the annual LungCAN Summit held in Raleigh last month, where nonprofit lung cancer organizations in the U.S. collaborate for greater impact in the lung cancer community. Dusty and her team participated in numerous panels and outreach events, including the Carolina BalloonFest, where 325 attendees took the Cancer Challenge and hundreds more learned about Skan, our cat that saves lives! After all, dogs can’t screen for lung cancer, but CATSCAN! Last month, LiveLung held a kickoff celebration for the Augusta chapter, which hosts its first meeting on November 14th. In addition, the Augusta team will host a table at a health fair on November 2nd. Big news in Facebook land! LiveLung launched Lung Cancer Network, our Facebook patient and care partner group moderated by our Director of Online Support Communities, Katie Brown. We are in countdown mode until November 6th when patients and their care partners arrive in Charlotte, NC for our first Lung Cancer Wellness and Survivorship Retreat and the 5th Annual LiveLung Lung Cancer Awareness Month Celebration immediately following on November 9th, both in Charlotte, NC. Watch your inbox this month as we ask you to send a message to our legislators requesting $60,000,000 for lung cancer research. We’ve made it easy, so we hope you’ll share the link with your friends and family. Subscribe to our newsletter here for more information https://www.livelung.org/contact
