I've had my 2022 Trek Domane for a bout seven months now. With one notable exception, I have been really pleased with the Domane. That single issue is the seat post, more on that below. I just love that metallic sapphire blue fading to grey paint job, it really pops in direct sunlight. From a more practical standpoint, the 54 inch frame's geometry is perfect for me. I can ride this bike until my legs fall off, and not have a hint of back pain. That's an issue for me, so I really appreciate this bike's fit. Regarding the seatpost, it's been the single problem I have had with the Domane. No matter how carefully I torque the post collar to the recommended 4 to 7 Newton Meters, the post will not stay put. It slides down into the seat tube over the course of a ride, to the point where it impacts my knees. My local bike shop had no solutions, and I really didn't think this rose to a warranty return level. Then someone mentioned they had the same issue and solved it with a new seatpost. I measured the stock seat post and it came in at 27.0mm instead of the spec'd 27.2mm. I did the same on the seat post from my recently upgraded Marin Eldridge Grade 1, which came in at 27.2mm. I swapped the seat posts and I am looking forward to seeing if this solved the problem.
