Arctic Adventure 1: Dogsledding and Northern Lights in Alta, Norway

We’re heading for a magical winter trip to the far north of Norway: Alta. That’s 70 degrees north – and much farther north than where I grew up in Norway in Lillestrom, outside of Oslo. Up north in Alta, we will be chasing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), riding with dogsleds and reindeer, driving snowmobiles, staying in an ice hotel and more. And in this first video of our day 1 in Alta, we are embarking on a dogsled experience and unique stay at the amazing Holmen Husky Lodge (‪@holmenhuskylodge1921‬) - and maybe we'll see the Northern lights?! We have always wanted to try dogsledding. And, one of the most unique things you can witness in Alta is “Finnmarksløpet”, Europe’s longest dog sledding race, which is 1,200 KM long, and which is dubbed «the winter’s most beautiful adventure» by its participants. The race itself is not taking place during our visit, but we are dog sledging about 10km along the very trail that Finnmarksløpet follows each year. And, of course, we love dogs!
