Maybe it’s a classmate, a co-worker, a friend, or even a family member – you’ve probably met someone hard of hearing or deaf. Hearing is one of our 5 major senses and being without it would completely shift your world. But did you know that certain antibiotics could cause deafness? With our infographic, we want to show you exactly what it means to be hearing, why antibiotics play a role in deafness, and a novel study that demonstrates a new pathway for scientists to explore to stop antibiotic-caused ototoxicity. You can access the infographic here: https://bit.ly/SoundOff2022 This video was made by McMaster University students Chinwendum Onyeocha, Akshaya Vigneswaran, and Yiming Zhang in collaboration with the Demystifying Research McMaster Program. #Hearing #Deafness This video is for general and educational information only.
