I’ve been riding mountain bikes a long time, and I still think Ibis was years ahead of everyone else. The old Ibis Mojo from almost twenty years ago set the tone for every modern carbon full-suspension bike you see today. You can still see Roxy Lo’s design ideas in half the bikes on the trail. In this video, I talk about why the Mojo was so far ahead of its time, why the Ripley took years to release (and why that was a good thing), and why Ibis refuses to rush anything—even their e-bike. They’re still owned by actual owners, not private equity, and you can feel that in their decisions. You can buy a decent hardtail or titanium frame off AliExpress… but if you want a full-suspension bike you can actually service, get parts for, and keep running for years, nothing touches an Ibis. That’s been true since I had my Mojo back in 2007–2009, and it’s still true today. If you’re into MTB history, good engineering, or you’ve ever wrenched on bikes for a living, this one will hit home.
