I Built My Sanctuary — And the Deer Are Already Using It

February kicked off with work on a new sanctuary on my farm, and I wanted to get a head start even with winter conditions still less than ideal. I’m a firm believer in sanctuaries and how important they are for holding deer, creating secure bedding, and improving daylight movement. We saw a lot of deer using the areas we cut earlier in January, so we went back in to drop more trees and continue building this spot out. It’s encouraging to see this much use already, and I’m looking forward to a winter and spring full of habitat projects.
