I took out the Taurus Model 66 revolver for its first range day. After a handful of sighters I produced an offhand 5-round group that turned out quite well. Then I tried my hand at knocking down steel plates and water jugs. 0:22 - First Impressions 0:47 - Offhand Accuracy 1:47 - Sight Picture 2:23 - Rubber Grips 2:45 - Trigger Feel 3:14 - Weight 3:57 - Speedloader Issues 4:45 - My 125-grain JHP Handloads 5:28 - Blowing up Water Jugs 7:07 - Parting Thoughts The accuracy of the Taurus 66 was unquestionably good. As long I pointed it correctly and didn't jerk the trigger, the revolver produced small groups and pinpoint placements on the plates. The trigger felt crisp and consistent in single action mode. I tried a few in double-action mode, but I kinda sucked. I need more practice before I can comment on the DA pull. The grip felt pretty nice, but later that day I started thinking about how a wider grip would have felt much better. I don't have huge hands, but the grip still felt too thin. Overall, I like this revolver very much. It excels at pinpoint precision, and maybe with a little practice I can make it move quickly, too. -The Social Regressive
