Conversion Rotra Mare

Due to the height of wind turbines, transport ships must be made suitable for the next generation of wind turbines. On behalf of Amasus Shipping, Niestern Sander worked together with Holland Shipyards Group on the conversion of the 'Rotra Mare'. The Rotra Mare measuring 141.6 by 20.6 meters is extended to a ship of 152.7 meters. For the renewal is a completely new section one. In order to be able to place these, the existing ship has been cut in half in the floating dock in Delfzijl. The bow has been towed from the dry dock and the new section is placed in between. This section is first adapted to the stern in the dry dock, later the dock is lowered for the attachment of the bow. The Rotra Mare returned to service in January 2022.
