Today I am presenting you with an amazing dish of North Indian cuisine which is very popular among vegetarians. It is Palak Paneer which is a very healthy as well extremely delicious dish. Spinach is an extremely nutrient-rich vegetable. It packs high amounts of carotenoids, vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid, iron, and calcium. Spinach has a host of benefits. It may reduce oxidative stress, promote eye health, fight cancer, and regulate blood pressure. When we cook spinach with Paneer, it doubles the benefit. 1 cup of cooked palak paneer gives 256 calories, 10 grams of carbs, 16 grams of fat and 12 grams of protein. So undoubtedly it is a wonderful combination of green leafy vegetables with a dairy product. Let's get started with the recipe of Palak Paneer. Cooking Steps: For Palak Paneer I am taking 500 grams of Spinach, 200 grams of cottage cheese (Paneer), I have finely chopped a large-sized onion. Add spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes and take the leaves out on a plate. Put them in a blender And make a fine paste. Chop 2-3 green chilies. Add a little oil on an iron tawa or heavy pan. I am using a cast-iron skillet. Heat up oil and spread evenly. Add Paneer pieces into the pan and grill them to give crispy texture on the outer layer. Paneer is grilled, take these out on a plate. Add 3-4 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Use any cookware available. I am using a copper pan. Add a 1-inch cinnamon stick, half teaspoon of cumin seeds, Fry for a minute, add chopped onion, fry at medium heat until golden color, add green chilies meanwhile. Add a tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste, Fry for 2-3 minutes at medium heat, add a quarter cup of water and cook again at high heat for 2 minutes. Add a half tablespoon of coriander powder, a half tablespoon of cumin powder, a half teaspoon of garam masala powder, salt as per taste, a pinch of turmeric, add red chili powder as per taste, Mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes at medium heat. Add a half cup of water and mix with the spices. Cook for 2 minutes at high heat, Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes at low heat. Add spinach paste. Mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes at high flame. Cover the lid and cook for 10 minutes at low heat. Stir occasionally. Add grilled paneer, Mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add approx 2 cups of water gradually and mix. Add a cube of butter. Cook at high flame until boil. Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes at medium flame. Palak Paneer is cooked. adjust the consistency as per your choice by adding water or reduced at high flame. Serve hot! Add a cube of butter. Sprinkle a few fenugreek leaves( Kasoori Methi).
