The weather was overcast so I thought I would go explore Wollongong's Flagstaff Hill where the huge 25m lighthouse sits which still is active today and runs 4.5secs on and 1.5secs off. There is also 2 rockpools here one on the southern side of the lighthouse and the hidden one on the eastern which the locals refer to as the Nun's Pool or Chain Baths. This pool is apparently one of NSW's first rockpools built in the 1800's. There are numerous photos on the internet from the early days of this pool and the area which is quiet remarkable to see. Some other information I have read is that Nun's from a nearby convent used to bring girls to bathe here in the 1900's.
