Christmas came early at the Jones residence. The Altair Hypercam 183M (Mono) is a dedicated astronomy camera with a 20MP CMOS Sensor. This is a brand new deep-sky imaging camera that I will connect to my telescope (as soon as the skies clear!) A monochrome camera will outperform a color sensor in terms of sensitivity, which is especially important when imaging in narrowband. To create a full color (or false color) image, I will need to shoot through multiple filters to produce a final image. Merry Christmas!
