Taino Goddess Atabey Has a Message for You...

Atabey is the supreme goddess of the Tainos, the group of people who inhabited the Caribbean Islands before Columbus came and basically wiped them out. She represents the Earth Spirit and the Spirit of all horizontal waters. Being the supreme goddess, Atabey represents the nurturing, motherly archetype, as well as fertility. As a result, she is often depicted as a naked woman in the birthing position, and can be considered the goddess of mothers and childbirth as well. (At times, she is also drawn to resemble the Coqui frogs native to the Virgin Islands, which were considered sacred by teh Taino people.) Atabey was also worshipped as the goddess of beauty, rituals, music and ceremony as well. Atabey is said to have given birth to herself from all the celestial elements, and conceived twin gods--Yucahu, God of yuca, the sea and the mountains, and Juracan, God of hurricanes--via immaculate conception. Atabey is the Earth, the water--even the invisible force that moves the sea and creates the tides. She has many names and represents all four cardinal directions. She is both the embodiment of the gentle spirit of love--and the wild, unpredictable mother of storms and natural disasters. Considering the utter devastation that Christopher Columbus wreaked onto the Taino and their culture, information about Goddess Atabey is scarce, but my personal experience with Atabey is that she moves quickly and is NO NONSENSE! For the 1st time ever, I was gifted with the shot during my trial run, and she was not havin my usual perfectionist tendencies, LMAO!! She intuitively invited me to play/enjoy the outdoors immediately after recording, and when I was about to leave (after the sun had set), I spotted the profile of a giant elk silently walking among the trees across the street!!! (In a public park frequently crawling with people!?) Completely on my toes, as usual; my knees or heels never touched the ground! Also, that's a functional SUNDIAL behind me! How very appropriate lol! LIVE.FOR.GREATNESS! ;-)
