Literature has the power to invent worlds that grip us in such a way that we integrate them into our reality or even believe them to be reality itself. The exhibition ›Wie Literatur Welt + Politik macht‹ (›How Literature Creates Worlds + Participates in Politics‹) makes use of archive objects to explore how literature creates the ›world‹ and what role cultural patterns, political systems, social groups and (inter)national publishing channels play in this process. The analogue open-space exhibition at the Museum of Modern Literature shows selected exhibits that were compiled over the course of two research projects. The exhibition is accompanied by a thematic ABC, including entries such as A for ›(Invented) Authors‹ and C for ›Censorship‹. *Editor's Note: The information given on Stefan Zweig at 09:13 is somewhat ambiguously phrased. Zweig flees the National Socialists from his home in Salzburg, Austria.
