When all else fails, spam missiles until it dies. As far as my preferences go for boss fights in this game, the GRAD is...meeeeeehhh. Probably my least favorite honestly, although that's not saying much, seeing what kind of competition he has. Even his older brother RAY, who is fairly easy to deal with, is so much more badass thanks to all the over-the-top madness of R-00. Plus they re-use the GRAD as a regular enemy in the chapter right after you fight him, which makes the fight seem a little more trivial. Of course, that's all just my opinion, so it's completely debatable. As far as the music goes, my original mix for Rules of Nature was more oriented towards the RAY boss fight, but it didn't really have that OST feel to it. Thus, I wanted to make this one more OST-like to compliment that one. Plus, I feel like Locked and Loaded almost suits the GRAD better: whereas RAY had a lot of projectiles to use against you, he still had a powerful means of attacking you with melee (his heat blade). On the other hand, the GRAD's primary form of offense is all of his projectiles, and his melee attacks with his feet and shields are a defense mechanism to knock you away, out into a range where he could missile you and you couldn't really attack him. The part of the fight that Locked and Loaded represents is the section where he's blocking that tunnel in the research facility and only shooting you with missiles, so that helped reinforce the use of that track, as well. All in all, I'm satisfied with this mix. As with the RAY-mix (oh boy, here we go again), the transitions are a little jarring thanks to the loud riffs at the beginning of each measure. This time, though, I had an ace in the hole to smooth those transitions out. ;) "Mexico - Research Facility", "Locked and Loaded", and "Rules of Nature" were composed by Jamie Christopherson, as a part of the OST for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". I claim no ownership of the original works, but I do claim responsibility for mixing them all together to create the final product that you're listening to. Hope you enjoyed the mix! :)
