Dec 25,2025 Spent the morning with family breakfast at my parents All packed and ready to go with carry on suitcase 🧳, travel bag and hiking 🥾 sticks. Paul McNeil with AM/PM Limousine provided safe transfer the Halifax International AirPort. Breeze thru security and plenty of time (2.5hrs) before the 4:40pm flight. ✈️ to Montreal where I will meet up with my daughter Alannah, her Husband Allan and his Father Jerry. We will travel to São Paulo Brazil before continuing to Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷. Follow along for the adventure! So Montreal flight was delayed and then eventually canceled. Was able to get onto a flight to Toronto, which is already delayed connecting to the flight to Buenos Aries that flight from Toronto to Buenos Aires connect to São Paulo, which is already currently delayed at 3:10 in the morning, however, it stops in São Paulo, which will reconnect with flight AC 90 which is the same flight that we were supposed to be on altogether so at that point, I will reconnect with Alannah , Allan and Jerry The flight from Toronto that was late coming here has arrived. People are departing so we’re hoping for a safe on time although delayed flight to Toronto. Another layover of an hour and a half in Toronto will now be 5 1/2 hours departing at 3:10 in the morning Made it to Toronto. Found my gate. Unable to get into the maple leaf 🍁 lounge as my pass is for domestic only .. would have been only good for 50mins as they sit down at 11. Found a burger and water. Alannah Allan and Jerry made it into Montreal and as of 11:06pm (Toronto time) they were in the air for about 7.5hr flight to São Paulo … where .. if all holds true .. they will be boarding my plane when it arrives. Sorted my carry on and personal baggage 🧳 a bit. Took off the knee braces … feels like you take off your skates after being in them for a long time .. freedom. Dec 26. Travel notes continues after midnight Toronto to São Paulo to Buenos Aires Grabbed a specialty coffee from Star Bucks (a rarity) to help keep awake until the 2:30am boarding Watched a Christmas 🎄 Die Hard (yes it is!) Boarded and settled into 18B. Middle seat but lots of leg room. Dozed here and there for the 10hr flight. ✈️ eventually had a little breakfast. No coffee was served as just before my row they stopped due to turbulence. Expectations of landing in São Paulo and continuing on to Buenos Aires was crushed as notification of a flight change Alannah Allan and Jerry landed in São Paulo and continued on to Buenos Aires. I had a hope their flight was going to be delayed so I could catch up there. Oh well. They landed in Buenos Aires the same time I landed in São Paulo. I will say Air Canada and ground personal did a great job being visible on the ground to direct the passengers to connecting flights / delay and security and gave us a little chit … until we could get a real boarding pass. Wandered the airport for a bit. Had a coffee and snack of some sort of chicken 🐔 mash balls Chatted with some people from canada also waiting for the delayed flight ✈️ as we were all waiting for the elusive boarding pass. Had a wonderful chat with a senior lady (75) solo traveler from Branford Ontario about her adventures the last number of years over a drink. Boarded flight and settled in and crashed for a couple hours. Immigration line for 25 min before official directed myself and a few others to the new automated machines … wow .. less than a minute process. No luggage to get as traveling with carry on. Found my way out of the building. Massive crowds outside. Used the Cabify (like uber) app to arrange a pickup. Driver Emmanuel was nice. Not too talkative at all. Safe driver local music and smooth travels to airport where my Daughter Alannah and son-in-law Allan were waiting for me. Completed check in. Chat and settled into accommodation. Had a snack of empanada they got for me and a chocolate peanut butter ball all the way from Edmonton (thanks Sue .. Alannah’s grandmother) Settled in for a good nights rest just after 1am. Looking forward for tomorrow to walk the markets, meet up with another local tour guide that I connected with from Tours By Locals and then afternoon food tour.
