Join me for a walk through the centre of the small South Yorkshire village of Hemingfield, located about 5 miles to the southeast of Barnsley. The village is steeped in coal mining history and on a very foggy day, we pass a number of interesting sights, including the Ellis CofE Primary School, Hemingfield Green, The Albion Inn and the railway between Elsecar and Wombwell, while we also talk about the history of Hemingfield Colliery (also known as Elsecar Low Colliery).
