Yet another brass offering from Accucraft, this time their second brass locomotive a Baldwin 2-6-0 Mogul circa 1879. Accucraft's second brass locomotive after the 1875 Baldwin 4-4-0 (prototype The Sonoma) was a Baldwin 2-6-0 from the same era. Both locomotives were marketed as 1/2" scale (1/24 scale) but both scale-out to 1:22.5 scale. Or "G" scale... Many of the parts of the first model were reused in this model. Same basic backhead for example. Both are great runners. Both are good models with a good level of detail. Typical of later Accucraft they are mostly bulletproof. intended for outdoor use. Anyway, let's take a close look at this great locomotive... From their web-site: Accucraft Trains was formed in 1994 in Mountain View, California. The company’s first project was a 1:24 scale boxcar. The following year saw the production of detailed 1:24 scale 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 locomotives. The models were painted and hand-assembled in the little California office, and the company was soon off and running. http://www.accucraft.com/legacy/index...
