NASB95 Large Print Compact - Is This a Lockman Commitment?

Many have wondered if The Lockman Foundation would have any commitment to the NASB 95 after rolling out the NASB 2020. They expressed not only a commitment to continue printing the 95, but even to re-typeset it during my interview. Also certain editions of the 2020 are being reprinted with the new 32gsm paper (no blue tint) many seem to love. Make sure you check their website to assure you are purchasing one that has been updated with the new paper as some of the older editions of the 2020 are still with the old paper. With all that said, this little compact is slick. It has just over a 7 x 5 footprint so it fits in the palm of your hand. It also has a nice readable 9pt font. What you sacrifice is leading space, and any margin to speak of. This bible is pretty much wall to wall text, and can look a touch crowded. But when you gain something, you have to sacrifice something. What you gain is a small bible with a large print, and what you lose is breathing room for the text. One really cool thing is that if you want a copy of each edition (the 2020 and the 95) they are virtually identical in pagination. While the paragraphs aren’t always in the exact same spot, you can turn to a page and find the same chapter and verse with relative ease. The 2020 is available in all cover options to include the Prime Series in brown and black goatskin. The 95 is currently only available in Leathertex. My hope is that they will see good sales numbers and this will eventually lead to more premium options in the 95 text. I really look forward to seeing the future of the NASB 95 with Lockman. Meanwhile, I am going to enjoy this little compact with great paper and a solid layout.
