Krithi: Ramachandrudithadu Ragam: Dwijavanthi Thalam: Ekam Composer: Annamacharya Chithra Veena: P Ganesh ‘Chitravina’ Ganesh was born on June 17, 1976, to Gayathri and Parthasarathy, into a distinguished Carnatic music family. A child prodigy, he began training at a very young age under his maternal uncle, the renowned guru ‘Chitravina’ Narasimhan. Like his cousins Chitravina Ravikiran, Shashikiran, and Kiranavali, Ganesh displayed extraordinary talent early on, identifying and rendering hundreds of ragas and talas by the age of two and a half. He later continued his training under Narasimhan and received vocal guidance from Ravikiran, along with the rare opportunity to learn from Sangeeta Kalanidhi T. Brinda, which greatly enriched his musical depth and classicism. Developing a deep interest in the 21-stringed fretless Chitravina at the age of eight, Ganesh combined natural talent with dedicated practice to master the instrument. Today, he is recognized as a leading exponent of the Chitravina, known for his fluid technique, expressive bhava, and command over complex rhythmic patterns. An A-grade artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan, he has performed widely in India and abroad, both as a soloist and in collaboration with eminent musicians such as T. Mukta and Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna. He has toured internationally, including as the lead instrumentalist in Ravikiran’s production Lakshmi Prabhavam, and is a core member of the ensemble Vintage Virtuosos. In addition to performing, Ganesh has also composed varnams, kritis, tillanas, and instrumental pieces, continuing to uphold and enrich his family’s rich musical legacy.
