Rohu Fish Curry (Rui Carp), or in Bengali we call it Rohu Mach Salun, a very famous fish in West Bengal. This is a simple recipe, delicate in flavours and defiantly if you are new to cooking Bangladeshi fish curry , start with this simple recipe. Remember to Follow us on : Instagram: / thebengalicook FB Fan Page: / the-bengali-cook-102449764570343 Equipments mainly used : Aluminium Pan- https://amzn.to/3ebyaLB Aluminium Karahi - https://amzn.to/2UF61Wp Non Stick Karahi - https://amzn.to/3e45l4K Cooking Utensil - https://amzn.to/2JQkkkZ Chef's Knife - https://amzn.to/2L2uVcM Mix Curry Powder - https://amzn.to/3aROBv2 Ingredients To Make Rohu Fish Curry Bengali Style Recipe Serve 3-4 Adults Prep time 15mins Cooking time 40-50mins 500g Rohu Fish (Rui Carp) 3 Chefs Spoon Oil 2 Medium Onion Finely Diced 4-5 Garlic Cloves Finely Chopped 1.5 tsp Salt (To Taste) 2 tsp Mix Curry Powder 1 tsp Turmeric Powder 1 tsp Chilli Powder 1 tsp Coriander Powder 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder 1 Fresh Tomato Handful Of Fresh Coriander 3-4 Sliced Green Chilli Instruction To Make Rohu Fish Curry Step 1 Heat oil in pan and then had onion and cooked for 2-3mins on medium heat. As the Onion begin to soften add garlic and salt and cook on low heat until onions are caramelised and soft. Step 2 Once onions have soften add spices and cook for 15mins using the method shown on video. Follow this process to ensure you make a delicious fish curry. Once you've added the spices, mix it altogether and let it cook. As the sauces dries up add half a cup of hot water and mix together, repeat this process for about 15mins. At this stage you are making the Fish masala base, so take your time at this stage and let all the spices come together properly. Step 3 Add Rohu fish, gently stir the fish so that its covered with the fish masala base and cook for 5mins on medium heat, then add 1 cup of hot water and let cook. Once the curry sauce dries up add another cup of hot water, again once it dries up, add 2 cups of hot water, add tomato, fresh coriander and chillies, gently stir all together cook on medium for 10mins and then simmer for 5mins on low heat.
