Golf Hook, Snap Hook, Duck Hook - Understanding Why You Are Hooking the Ball

For more on how to stop hooking your drives, see: https://free-online-golf-tips.com/fix... Do you sometimes hook the ball with your driver? Or worse yet, do you sometimes duck-hook - or snap hook - the ball low and left, as a right-handed golfer? What is a hook shot? A hook is a golf shot that spins aggressively from right to left and ends up left of the intended target. What is the difference between a hook and a draw? While a draw golf shot will also curve from right to left a draw will see the ball finish on target. A hook shot is considered a shot mistake because it misses the target, landing to its left. The hook is caused by two issues. For one, the swing path is from the inside-out and two, the clubface is closed relative to the path. The combination of those two factors will produce sideways spin and the larger the disconnect, the greater the side spin. You can expect your hooked shots to stay relatively low to the ground and to roll quite a bit of distance upon landing. That is because the clubface, in its closed position, will lose effective loft and will send the ball on a lower trajectory. #golf #golftips
