Recording date: 12th February, 2025 Ur-Energy stands as the largest uranium producer in the United States, with operations centered in Wyoming through two flagship properties: the active Lost Creek mine and the under-construction Shirley Basin project. The company has secured significant off-take agreements worth 5.7 million pounds over the next six years with major utilities in both the US and Europe. Lost Creek boasts a substantial resource base of 12+ million pounds (measured and indicated) plus 6+ million pounds (inferred), with a projected 13-year mine life. The facility is fully permitted for 2.2 million pounds annual processing capacity, while mining is licensed for 1.2 million pounds annually. This deliberate capacity gap enables toll processing opportunities, particularly for their upcoming Shirley Basin production. The Shirley Basin project, set to begin operations in late 2025 or early 2026, features exceptional characteristics for an in-situ project, including a high grade of 0.23% and nearly 9 million pounds of measured and indicated resources. Historically significant as potentially the world's first in-situ uranium mine (1963), the brownfield site benefits from existing infrastructure. Cost efficiency appears to be a key competitive advantage. Historical data from 2015 shows cash costs of $16/lb and all-in site costs of $44/lb. While acknowledging inflation's impact, management projects future operating costs of under $17/lb at Lost Creek and $24-25/lb at Shirley Basin, positioning them among the lowest-cost global producers. The company employs in-situ mining technology, which offers environmental advantages through minimal surface disturbance and site restoration potential. With approximately 35,000 acres of mineral claims and a low royalty burden enhancing project economics, Ur-Energy presents as an established domestic uranium producer with a clear growth trajectory through both production expansion and exploration potential.
