Journey onboard 397001 as the 1M89 1412 Edinburgh to Manchester Airport ✈️ calling at Haymarket, Lockerbie, Carlisle, Penrith North Lakes, Oxenholme Lake District, Lancaster, Preston, Bolton, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport ✈️. Thankfully it was in first class, as I wanted to give the West Coast Kitchen a try! However, the only disadvantadge of first class on the 397s is that the seats align poorly with the windows, unlike standard where every seat aligns perfectly with the windows! On the Mk5A sets, it was a reverse situation where the seats in first class aligned perfectly with the windows while the standard seats aligned poorly with the windows.
