In this talk, she started with the phrase “地命海心” which is traditionally a sarcasm of the grand dream of low class individuals. Throughout the talk, she combined her interest in economics law and poetry, her previous participation of some important international economics law cases, her own poetry, offering the audience a radically different interoperation of the phrase, namely accepting that you live in an imperfect world but still bearing an idealism that you should continue to help others and commit to good. Prof. Li Ben is a leading legal scholar specializing in international economics law. She now teaches at Shanghai university. She has been the counselor of the Chinese government in dealing with international economic cases and had offered important advices that were eventually taken in some previous important cases. She is also a poet at the same time, publishing several books of poetry. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
