🇮🇳 DHARAVI SLUM, INDIA, SHOCKING CONDITIONS: WHAT LIFE LOOKS LIKE IN THE BIGGEST SLUM IN INDIA, WALKING IN INDIA, 4K HDR, The biggest slum in India is Dharavi, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It's one of the largest slums in Asia, with an estimated population of 700,000 to over 1 million people, living in an area of just about 2.1 square kilometers. Despite the tough living conditions, Dharavi is known for its vibrant informal economy, including pottery, leather goods, textiles, and recycling industries. It's also become a popular spot for slum tours, especially after being featured in films like Slumdog Millionaire. Dharavi — the heart of Mumbai and one of the most densely populated slums in the world. In this video, we explore the raw, unfiltered reality of life in Dharavi. Mountains of garbage, the strong and constant smell of waste, and extreme overcrowding paint a harsh picture — but this is only one side of the story. Despite the tough conditions, Dharavi is full of life, resilience, and relentless hard work. From recycling industries to pottery, leather, and textiles — thousands of people here work day and night to earn a living and support their families. This place may be chaotic, but it's also inspiring. Join me as we walk through narrow alleys, witness daily struggles, and meet the people who make Dharavi what it truly is: a symbol of strength and survival. After nearly two decades of stalled efforts, the project gained momentum in 2023 when the Adani Group secured the redevelopment contract with a bid of ₹5,069 crore (approximately $619 million). Key Features of the Redevelopment Plan Scale and Investment: The project spans approximately 240 hectares (about 590 acres) and is expected to cost around ₹3 lakh crore (about $36 billion). It involves constructing 10 crore sq. ft. of rehabilitation structures and 14 crore sq. ft. of saleable property. Housing and Infrastructure: Eligible residents, particularly those living in Dharavi since before the year 2000, will receive free housing units of 225 sq. ft. These units will include modern amenities such as attached kitchens and toilets. Economic Integration: The plan also includes the rehabilitation of around 5,000 businesses and 15,000 single-room factories. These operations span sectors like leather, textiles, pottery, metalwork, and recycling, collectively contributing over $1 billion annually to the economy. Timeline: The project is expected to be completed over a period of seven years. Initial surveys and groundwork are already underway. 🎥 Full India Walking Tour Playlist: https://tinyurl.com/2s3aud3e #IndiaWalkingTour #MumbaiWalkingTour #DharaviWalkingTour #DharaviSlum #MumbaiSlums #IndiaSlums #WalkingTourIndia #MumbaiStreets #SlumTourMumbai #RealIndia #StreetLifeIndia #HiddenMumbai #ExploreDharavi #UrbanIndia #WalkingInMumbai -------------------------------------- FEEL FREE TO SUPPORT MY CHANNEL - PayPal Donations: https://www.PayPal.me/GirlinParadise Become a member - / @girlinparadise -------------------------------------- SOCIAL MEDIA: INSTAGRAM - / girl_in_paradise_youtube MY 2nd CHANNEL (LONDON ONLY) - https://tinyurl.com/5ceafdv4 -------------------------------------- 00:00 - Dharavi slum, India slums, Walking Tour, 4k 02:06:00 - Dharavi Slum, Mumbai, India slums
