Get into Halloween spirit with this spooky forest painting. Not a spooky person? Instead of ghosts you can paint silhouettes of rabbits, deer, or glowing fireflies. This tutorial will start with wet on wet technique, and then wet on dry for details. Another fun technique is color lifting to create mist, and dry brushing for textures in the forest ground. It’s a lot but you can do it! Supplies: Water Paper towels Artist tape Paper (Arches cold press watercolor paper). 5x7 inches Brushes: round 12, 8 or 6, 2; flat wash; liner Paints: I used Master’s Touch tubes from Hobby Lobby. I used black, blue (cerulean blue), brown, and green. White paint: I used bleedproof white by Dr pH Martin. You can also use white gouache, white acrylic, or white pen. Use what you have and substitute if needed. Have fun painting!
