Eight individuals died in total, making it the single greatest incident in the mountain's climbing history. Scott Fischer, a well-known climbing guide from Seattle, is one of them. While leading excursions to "the top of the world," Scott Fischer coordinated this ascent with care for the weather records on Everest. He was supported by two of the world's top climbers, Neal Beidleman and Anatoli Boukreev. Scott Fischer's fifth trip to Everest, proved to be his last.
