The Los Nieto, California School District program has been successfully helping children whose experiences at home do not relate to the expectations of the schools. The teachers contact the parents and help to reshape the attitudes of the families towards education, show the parents what they can do for the children at home. The children show a marked increase in awareness of the world about them and improved ability of self expression. The children are shown playing while the interview proceeds.
