But they also have an automated gearbox, and it's a special one too. Because it is not a convential automatic but what Suzuki calls: 'Auto Gear Shift'. A small unit on top of the regular manual gearbox takes over control of the gears and clutch. Suzuki says that it is fun-to-drive, more economical than a regular automatic and is relatively cheap to buy. To add to that the car is lightweight, a fraction bigger than the car it succeeds, namely the Alto and that creates more interior space which is practical. Also, the small engine has enough power (68 hp) and torque (90 Nm) from its 998-cc 3-cylinder engine to move it around quickly. We take a more in-depth look into how the system works in reality.
