I’ve been with this family for 6-7 weeks now. Oh how baby has grown! 💗💗 Some FAQs: ❓ Why are babies eyes covered? ✅ For privacy reasons, as well as keeping babe drowsy during diaper changes and feedings. Infrared and tea lights are great for nighttime with baby. This video would not have been possible without the use of “big” lights. ❓ Why does mom choose to pump vs. feed baby at the breast? ✅ Many mamas choose to pump during the night instead of offering the breast for a myriad of reasons. Some of those may be because 1) it can be more time efficient so that she can get to back to bed quicker, 2) it gives her a chance to be her own person as many can become “touched out” during the day, 3) some choose to exclusively pump! ❓How much is this? ✅ My specific rates can be found on my website. Postpartum doulas typically range between $250-$500 per night, with an average being $325. Some insurance companies are beginning to cover postpartum support, so be sure to call yours anf check! ❓Why do I rotate baby? ✅ Baby is rotated on my lap to help move and relieve gas. Gas tends to peak at 2, 6, and 8 weeks of age. ❓Why does baby sit upright when eating? ✅ When baby is sitting upright and the bottle is horizontal to the floor, we call this “pace bottle feeding”. This is best practice to ensure baby is taking in what they want at an appropriate speed, making them “work” for it (as biologically intended). ❓Where am I located?
