Performed: May 11, 2024 River Hill High School, Clarksville, MD, USA Concert Playlist:    • CCB: May 11, 2024 - River Hill High School   Mother’s Day is a special time for many of us, and for Columbia Bands it typically means a Saturday spent performing music for our loved ones and community. This year is no different, bringing an incredible program spanning marches, musical theatre, and symphonic imagery to the River Hill stage for an incredible performance, including a piece by favorite composer Brian Balmages in honor of a local band director, Lew Dutrow of Wilde Lake High School. The Columbia Concert Band is a group of approximately 90 musicians. We rehearse weekly and perform about five concerts per year. Our repertoire consists of many different musical styles, including traditional band arrangements, classical, contemporary, pop/rock, marches, jazz, Broadway, Americana, and baroque. Founded in 1983, the Columbia Concert Band provides local musicians the opportunity to perform challenging band literature while entertaining the public in the Baltimore and Washington region. The band is affiliated with Howard Community College, which gives credit to students for band participation.
