In today’s plumbing video I have been sent to fix a toilet that is leaking constantly into the pan. The main reason why this happens is due to the siphon washer leaking past or the fuel valve constantly runs and doesn’t shut off. The problem that the customer has is that they hear random surgeon noises through the night and that is because the toilet is losing water through the washer and the fill valve has to fill back up to its original level. The Plumbing on his toilet isn’t the best. The previous plumber installed two flexible houses together which just looks shocking. The standard of Plumbing has definitely got bad over the years and I’m here to try and bring some quality back to our work. So if the toilet is laid and disconnected from the water supply, I remove the old flexibles and re-pipe in hard pipe a new isolator to able to isolate the water using the leave of valve . And connect back onto the flow valve using a flexible hose as this makes repairs in the future a lot easier. Taking off the toilet is easy on this job as they didn’t even fix the system back to the wall there is a big gap behind and every time the customer sat on it annoys or banging occurs . A full strip down of the parts is definitely needed and why you’ve isolated the water you might as well change both the fill valve and the cistern so the toilet will last a lot longer and make future repairs very easily. Because the gap behind the toilet is quite far, I installed a bit of wood just behind so I’m able to fix the toilet back against the wall as it should be .
