Join us on an epic Iran border crossing in this Motovlog Follow our USA to Pakistan motorcycle tour as we explore the beautiful country of Iran. As I embark on an epic journey from the Turkish border into Iran, one of the harshest border crossings for an American passport holder, in Episode 67 of my USA to Pakistan Motorcycle Tour. In this Urdu travel vlog, I take you through the intense process of crossing the Turkey-Iran border, facing challenges, and experiencing the cultural and historical complexities of this significant route. The Adventure Begins: Starting just 40 kilometers from the Iranian-Turkish border, I knew this day would be a true test of endurance and patience. The Iran border crossing is notoriously challenging, especially for American citizens due to the strained relations between the USA and Iran, dating back to the Iranian Revolution and the hostage crisis of the American embassy in 1979. Turkish Border Control: The day started with passing through the Turkish border control. As I approached the customs area, I was directed into a small cage-like structure, reminiscent of a dog cage, which added to the tension of the moment. To complicate matters, I was fined 750 lira for a traffic violation that I needed to settle before proceeding. Entering Iran: Finally, the gate to Iran opened, and I was allowed to enter. The process on the Iranian side was surprisingly smoother than expected. With the help of my Farsi-speaking friend, I navigated the security checks and customs smoothly. They checked my carnet de passage for my motorcycle, my passport, and issued my visa. Despite the historical tension, the officers were professional and the process efficient. Why It's Harsh for Americans: This border crossing is particularly harsh for Americans due to the historical context of strained US-Iran relations. The Iranian Revolution in 1979 saw the American embassy in Tehran attacked and 52 American hostages taken, leading to a severe diplomatic fallout and lasting sanctions. This history casts a long shadow over any American's entry into Iran. Journey to Tabriz: After completing the border formalities, I rode my BMW R1250GSA from the border to Tabriz, Iran. The ride through Iran's landscapes was incredible, and I share these stunning views and my reflections on the day's events in this episode. Conclusion: Join me in this thrilling episode as I navigate one of the most challenging border crossings from Turkey to Iran on an American passport. This journey is a testament to the spirit of adventure and resilience, highlighting the complexities of international travel.
