Is TikTok is BAD for learning? // Problems with TikTok and Education

TikTok is bad…for learning. Over the past few years, there’s been more and more creators (and teachers) conveying educational content through short form media like TikTok videos). Is TikTok good at all for learning? What makes TikTok so bad for students? Should teachers be sharing content on TikTok? In this video, I’m going to cover how TikTok is bad for learning in two parts. Part one covers how TikTok violates a lot of multimedia learning principles and why it’s not a great place to convey content for learning! Part two discusses the implications for students and TikTok, and how it may be affecting learning on a broader scale.
