DAILY CATHOLIC MASS 3/3/26 | Practicing What We Preach and the Example of St. Katharine Drexel

Welcome! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Tuesday of the Second Week of Lent as we honor the Memorial of St. Katharine Drexel. In today’s profound Homily, Father Eric Cadin reflects on the Lenten call to interior communion. Drawing from Jesus’ critique of the scribes and Pharisees, Father Eric reminds us that God desires a faithfulness that encompasses both mind and heart, where our words and actions are unified in Him. We are encouraged to offer the "sacrifice of praise"—a spirit of thanksgiving that recognizes who God is and who we are in relation to Him. This Mass invites us to surrender our lives in service to others, conforming ourselves to the one Master, the Christ, who exalts those who humble themselves. The Scriptures highlight the necessity of active justice and the virtue of humility: -The First Reading (Isaiah 1:10-20): The Lord issues a stern command to "wash yourselves clean" and "cease doing evil". He emphasizes that religious ritual is secondary to moral action: "Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow". God offers the beautiful promise that though sins be like scarlet, they may become "white as snow" through obedience and conversion. -The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 50): A declaration of divine priority: "To the upright I will show the saving power of God". -The Holy Gospel (Matthew 23:1-12): Jesus warns His disciples against the example of the religious leaders who "preach but do not practice". He instructs the faithful to eschew titles of honor and worldly recognition, declaring that "the greatest among you must be your servant". May the refreshment of this sacred table bring us an increase in devoutness and the constant help of God’s work of conciliation.
