Exactly ten years ago on this day, 10 August 2011, most parts of the worst riots in England in recent history stopped. By the time that happened, the riots spread to multiple cities outside of where it originated in London. Five people ultimately died, hundreds of people were injured, widespread looting and destruction to property occurred, not least to say thousands of people participating in it with most arrested. A decade on, this documentary looks back in time to where it all started from the death of Mark Duggan on 04 August, to the activists staging a protest at the Tottenham Police Station on 06 August, the escalation of the initial violence within London and the subsequent spread to other cities. This documentary also features interviews and eyewitness accounts from those involved that fateful week, from police officers and officials in power at the time, victims of the attacks and their families and even the rioters themselves. This documentary is based on a timeline and begins with the previous major riot in Tottenham, London in 1985, to a year before the 2012 London Olympics, the week between 04 to 10 August 2011, the aftermath with the arrests and prosecutions and how people's lives have changed since then. Voices and snippets of past and current news reporters who reported on the events are also captured here.
