Conveyancing: Direct & Double Transfer The DIRECT TRANSFER and DOUBLE TRANSFER process only occurs when the title still registered under the name of the Developer/Proprietor. However, the Purchaser intends to sell his property to the New Purchaser. In this situation, the Purchaser may:- (a) request the Developer to transfer the title to his name first, then subsequently he transfers the title to the New Purchaser's name (known as "Double Transfer"); or (b) request the Developer directly transfer the title to the New Purchaser's name (known as "Direct Transfer").
