2024 March 2-5 East Malaysia; Kuching Day 3, We did a free and easy city walk. Haha, really a lot of walking almost 20k steps! From the city we walk all the way to the opposite side of the river to Orchid Park, visit the garden and its free entrance. Next, we hit to Fort Margherita, it took us an hour walk by cutting through parks and lanes. One may visit the museum if you are interested about the history of this building. The building which was built in the 1879 was named Margherita after Renee Margaret who was the wife of Sir Charles Brooke, the second Rajah of Sarawak. It is now a historical museum. There is a nice park in this area for photo spots. We decided to take a boat ride (RM5) across the river to go back to the city, otherwise we may need another 1.5 hour to walk, and we are really hungry at this hour! After late lunch, we decided to walk to Kubah Ria, a local Satok night market. We underestimated the journey to Satok Suspension Bridge. So, on the way we waived for a public bus, the uncle was very kind (he was about to drive home after work), he gave us a free ride to the market! There are wide varieties of local jungle produces, cooked food and fresh meats, let's explore! After our dinner at the market, we are exhausted, so we took a grab back to the hotel!
