In this lighting breakdown, I walk you through how I lit this floral editorial using just two constant lights — both Aputure 600Ds — and some simple bounce to create soft, dimensional light that wraps around the subject without losing detail in the flowers. I'm using an area dome (some of y'all might know these as China balls) overhead as my key, and a large light dome right beside me as fill. The key is doing most of the heavy lifting, but because it's throwing light in all directions, I'm able to bounce some of that back with foam core to fill in the shadows on her opposite side. For the beauty shots, we brought in another board from below to open up the shadows under her chin and collar. I'll show you how to read the final images — where the highlights land, where the shadows fall, and how to trace all of that back to where the lights were positioned. If you've ever struggled to connect the dots between your lighting setup and your results, this breakdown is for you. 🔥 Topics Covered: ✔ Two-light constant setup with Aputure 600Ds ✔ Using an area dome as an overhead key light ✔ Positioning fill on the same axis as the lens ✔ Foam core bounce for shadow control ✔ Adding atmosphere with a smoke machine ✔ Reading catchlights to reverse-engineer your lighting Let me know in the comments if this breakdown was helpful — and if there's a specific part of this setup you want me to go deeper on! #LightingBreakdown #EditorialPhotography #ConstantLights #Aputure600D #BehindTheScenes #StudioLighting #PhotographyTips #BeautyLighting #FloralPhotography 📷 Studio Lighting Recipes: https://www.allencooley.com/store/stu... 🔗 For more info: https://linktr.ee/allencooley 💯 For more information click here: https://linktr.ee/allencooley 💬 Did you like this video?
