The Metaponto National Archaeological Museum is a museum located in Metaponto, Basilicata. It houses the main finds found in the area surrounding the ancient Metaponto and some finds from the nearby area of Pisticci and from the archaeological area of the Incoronata, located there. Since December 2014, the museum has been managed by the Basilicata Museum Complex. The exhibits from prehistoric times consist of various objects and furnishings found in funerary objects, including jewelery and bronze and ivory objects of high quality. Most of the testimonies of Greek age come from the site of the Incoronata of Pisticci, with decorated cups, cups and ceramics, among which the censer with animal decorated stem and mythological scenes stands out. The findings from the Metaponto temples with numerous vases and painted cups date from a later date. The Roman Hellenistic ceramics, Roman and African and late imperial of Asia Minor, are of Roman age.
