Currently displayed in Gallery 1 of the newly opened “Singapore Stories: Pathways & Detours in Art” (2024), this ink painting measures an impressive 190 x 488 cm and features Chen's iconic gibbon motif, showcasing a lively troupe at play among tree branches against a dramatic cliff backdrop. This video captures the intricate conservation process of this treasured artwork, honouring Chen's creative legacy through one of his largest and most elaborated paintings on this subject.
