[Anchor] To commemorate the APEC summit, six Silla gold crowns have been displayed together for the first time in history. The unprecedented special exhibition has sparked explosive public interest, drawing such massive crowds that the museum was forced to impose entry limits. Park Joon-woo reports. [Report] At the Gyeongju National Museum, lines of visitors stretched far beyond the gates. Hundreds of people gathered at once to see the special exhibition of Silla gold crowns. Many gave up after waiting for hours. [Shin Chul-hee/Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do: “I arrived at 11 a.m., toured the museum, and finally got in around 2:30. Personally, it’s an honor to see this.”] The overwhelming turnout led the museum to take emergency measures just one day after the opening, citing safety concerns. Visitor numbers were capped at 150 people every 30 minutes — a total of 2,550 per day. Even so, all entry tickets distributed from 9 a.m. were gone by around 2 p.m., showing no slowdown in demand. [Kim Dae-hwan/Curator, Gyeongju National Museum: “A huge crowd gathered from early morning, which caused several issues. This measure is necessary to ensure a safe and pleasant viewing experience.”] It is the first time that all six surviving Silla gold crowns have been displayed in one place. Because such an opportunity is unlikely to come again, public fascination has been extraordinary. A replica of the Cheonmachong Gold Crown — earlier presented as a gift to U.S. President Donald Trump — also added to the exhibition’s popularity. [Jeon Ha-yoon/Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province: “I saw it in my school textbook, but seeing it in person was amazing. The jewels and the crown were so beautiful.”] To celebrate APEC, the museum also installed a large-scale “media wall” recreating the ancient capital of Seorabeol, captivating visitors with its immersive visuals.
