In an exclusive conversation with India Today's Preeti Choudhry, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh detailed his government's strategy to attract investment. The cornerstone of the plan is offering land to the top 100 global and Indian IT companies for a symbolic price of 99 paise. He mentioned that deals with TCS and Cognizant have already been closed. Lokesh explained this is a necessary 'hustle' for a new state and draws from the playbooks of his father, Chandrababu Naidu, who brought ISB to Hyderabad, and Prime Minister Modi, who attracted Tata Motors to Gujarat. Lokesh said, "You need bold decisions if you want to really break."
