Swiss Custom🇨🇭Cattle Show Hundwil 🐮 Cattle Drive & Natural Yodeling in the Center of the Village 🫶

Part 1 - Hundwil Cattle Show in Switzerland - Traditionally, Hundwil hosts the last cattle show of the year in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Also traditionally, farmers walk with their cows from the farm to the showground in the village center. Right next to the church, on the Landsgemeindeplatz, the cows are tied to wooden slats after the drive-up. To the delight of the numerous spectators lining the route, some farmers drive up with their goats and bulls in traditional Alpine style, as if they were driving the cows down from the Alps. After the cows have been led to the showground, the herdsmen gather for natural yodeling and ringing bells. After lunch, the cows are awarded prizes. The awards ceremony concludes with the election of Miss Hundwil (see Part 2).
