Counting calories alone only supports weight loss. But macros support FAT LOSS. Here are some basic rules for figuring out your numbers: 1️⃣Determine your BMR (basal metabolic rate) I use the calculator on active.com 2️⃣Add your daily activity calories (this is how many calories you burn from all movement plus exercise) 3️⃣ The sum of your BMR plus your activity calories is your TDEE or total daily energy expenditure 4️⃣ Take your TDEE and subtract 500 calories (to lose one pound of body fat per week- 1lb of fat is 3500 calories divided by 7 days) 5️⃣ Once you know your calories and have NO issues with diabetes, carb tolerance, thyroid, pcos, or hormones, then you figure out macros as follows: Protein- 1g per gram lean body mass Fat- 0.4g per gram lean body mass Carbs= [Total calories - Calories from protein (P g x 4cal/g) - Calories from fat ( F g x 9cal/g) ]/ 4 Still confused?
