Let’s call this video Part 1 of a series of videos about the M90. No idea what the part 2 will be about, but we’ll see when we get there. The stock 5 speed Volvo M47 transmission on a Volvo 240 is pretty weak and will break once you make more power with the mighty redblock engine. The newer Volvo M90 transmission is a lot stronger and a good upgrade. On this video a bracket is fabricated out of steel which allows the newer M90 to be easily bolted in place of the weak M47 transmission. The bracket is used together with the stock M47 transmission mount and M47 transmission cross member. And as an upgrade, you can to choose to use two transmission mounts to make the whole assembly more stable. So how to put an M90 to a Volvo 240? Or to a Volvo 740?? Build a bracket like this.
