(4 Mar 2016) STILL LEADERLESS DIOR PLAYS IT SAFE WITH UPDATE ON HOUSE'S CLASSICS Kendall Jenner, sporting a short black coat, walked the runway at Dior's ready to wear AW 2016 show in Paris this Friday. Her mother Kris Jenner and American actress Jessica Alba wearing a mexican-inspired suit attended the event. The show's venue, a mirrored temporary structure in the Louvre's Cour Carree square, hinted at the collection that revisited Dior's iconic sketches. Four months after Raf Simons'departure, Dior has yet to find a new Creative Director. And in-house head designers duo Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux'second collection played it safe by drawing up black silhouettes and updates of the 'bar' jacket and the 'ice-cream' dress. Soft, generous volumes mixed with short coats conveyed a sense a rebellious femininity with shoulders either draped, concealed or laid bare. The unfurling also represented a nice play on Dior's obsession with flowers, furthered by some beautifully vivid red looks.
